One of my favorite books as a child, until now I can read this book and throughout the book and towards the end those feelings come back to life. This beloved book by E. B. White, author of Stuart Little and The Trumpet of the Swan, is a classic of children's literature that is "just about perfect." It's about a humble pig and a spider name Charlotte, who became great friends. In addition, the both shared their love for a little girl name Fren. This novel is definitely a classic teaching our young generation about friendship, Family and Adventure. As we grow through life from birth until adulthood we will experience the good and the bad when it comes to friendships and Family. However, most importantly it teaches us that life is all about adventure. This is why this is one of my favorite children's book.
I use this book as well for my PreK class. I read it at the beginning of the school year to introduce friendships and they form and we recap with the actual film Charlotte's Web. Great book!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte's Web was inspirational. After the death of Charlotte, Wilbur returned the favor of her kindness by taking care of her children. It was a testament to friendship everlasting.
